Zi Wei Dou Shu, also called Purple Star Astrology, is a specialised branch developed by the Song-dynasty scholar Chen Xi-Yi around the tenth century. Unlike the Chinese Zodiac or BaZi, it maps fourteen primary stars across twelve life palaces to produce an unusually detailed blueprint of character, relationships, and life direction — closer in granularity to a Western natal chart than a zodiac sign.
